Google Maps is one of the most used mobile applications in the world, especially for commuting. But many more interesting functions are hidden in it. Today we tell you how to spy on all your movements through the Google Maps timeline.

February 8, 2005 was the date chosen for the official presentation of Google Maps on the company’s official blog. Since then it has been evolving and has now become one of the favorite apps for users , especially to move to a place or to view any location.

Over time, Google Maps has been adding new and interesting features, and this has made the application too heavy for mobile phones with limited storage and hardware. To address these issues, Google was forced to release lightweight alternatives like Google Maps Go and Navigation Go.

With Google Maps you can also find places of interest, share any location via WhatsApp, locate the best restaurants in the city or see the skyline of cities like Madrid or Barcelona. Google Maps also serves as an archive of all those things we have done recently. This is thanks to the chronology function that the app has.

The Google Maps timeline shows an estimate of the places you’ve visited and the routes you’ve traveled based on your location history. Thus, if you need to know the day where you made a trip thanks to this function, it is easy to remember and retrieve that information. You can edit your timeline at any time and remove your location history from it.

To guarantee your privacy, you should know that this timeline function is completely private, so only you can see it by accessing your Google account. The timeline is available on mobile devices and computers. To know how to spy on all your movements through the Google Maps timeline, follow the steps that we show you below:

In addition, as we have mentioned before, this timeline is editable, so after the end of the day we can review it and add a site that we have visited and that Google Maps has not detected, we can also correct some information that the platform has not detected. well, such as the travel time or duration of a trip, add notes about a place to be able to consult them later or delete the entire day if we do not want it to be recorded in our history.
