BlueStacks is an outstanding Android Emulator waiting for Windows 10. Users can take advantage of its excellent Android application emulation capabilities and can use any Android application that is not available on Windows 10. But some people using Snapchat on BlueStacks are reporting a application error. The error says:
You are using a version of Snapchat or operating system that is no longer supported. Please update your device’s operating system and update to the latest version of the app to use Snapchat. Thanks!
This only leaves us a vague message, but this also means that we have limited but robust solutions for the same.
Snapchat not working on BlueStacks
Based on the error mentioned above, we will make the following fixes,
- Get the latest version of supported BlueStacks.
- Get the latest version of Snapchat for Android.
1] Get the latest version of supported BlueStacks
Due to some reasons, Snapchat is blocked by its developers to run on a newer version of BlueStacks starting with BlueStacks 3. Therefore, the only workaround left for us is to install the most compatible version of BlueStacks.
To do that, start by typing appwiz.cpl in the Start Search box and hit Enter to open the Uninstall a Program application from the Control Panel.
In the full list in the new window, look for an entry called, BlueStacks App Player. Right click on it and click Uninstall. Restart your computer.
After restarting your computer, you will have to delete all the residual files and folders left behind by this software.
Once you’re done, get the required BlueStacks 2 configuration file from here .
Once you’ve installed it, try using Snapchat on it.
2] Get the latest version of Snapchat for Android
Getting the latest version of Snapchat is really simple. Just head over to the Google Play Store on BlueStacks.
Search for Snapchat and from the app page select Install to download and install it on your app emulator.
Alternatively, you can head over to APKMirror.com and get the latest version of Snapchat available.
You will get a downloaded APK file on your computer. Just drag and drop it into your current app. It will ask you to install the APK file.
Install it by following the instructions on the screen.
Now check if Snapchat is working fine for you on BlueStacks.
