The first smartwatch from the Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo is reminiscent of the Apple Watch.

With the Oppo Watch, the Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo presented its first smartwatch this week . The gadget was initially presented in two sizes only for the Chinese market. The rectangular screen measures 1.6 inches in the smaller version and 1.9 inches in the larger version. The curved AMOLED screen has a resolution of 402 x 473 pixels and, according to Oppo, covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space.
The smartwatch case is made of aluminum and has two navigation buttons on the side. The Snapdragon Wear 2500 chipset and an Apollo 3 coprocessor work in the case. The internal memory offers eight gigabytes. Oppos ColorOS Watch, which is based on Google’s Android, is used as the interface. The Oppo Watch supports eSIM and has GPS, NFC and Bluetooth 4.2. The smartwatch is compatible with Android smartphones from Android 6.0. The Oppo Watch supports various sports activities, monitors sleep and, on request, produces an EKG. According to Oppo, the integrated battery lasts up to 40 hours with normal use.
The Oppo Watch will be available in China from March 24th. The smaller version costs around 190 euros, while the 1.9-inch version costs 255 euros. It is not yet known when and whether the Oppo Watch will come to Germany.
