Android: change or disable data warning – how it works

In newer versions, Android automatically notifies you of your data consumption. If this exceeds a certain value, you will receive a data warning. We show how you can deal with it.

Surf with full control: Android warns you of a certain limit.

Mobile data consumption is no longer as critical as large volumes have long been standard even with cheap contracts. However, the data warning can be useful.

Android: Simply set the data warning manually

On Android 9, do the following:

  1. Open the “Settings”.
  2. Select “Connections”.
  3. Open “Data usage”, there you will see the data warning above.
  4. Tap on “Mobile data usage” below and then on the gear in the top right corner.

Now you will see all data warning options. In this way you can set whether this should be displayed at all. If so, you can set the value manually. In addition, with “Set data limit” you can have the mobile data switched off automatically as soon as the value for the data warning is reached. These functions are particularly practical for users with a relatively small mobile volume. On the other hand, if you have a generous contract and handle it moderately, you will rarely get into trouble anyway.
