If you tend to forget where you leave your car parked, you can save its location in Google Maps to find it quickly.
It is very simple. To remember where you parked, when you get to the parking lot, open Google Maps and tap on the blue dot of your location. In the panel that appears, tap on the Save Parking option . The place will be marked with the label You parked here .
You don’t really need to be in a car to save a place like this. You can also do it if you are on foot. Although you could also use the “Save” option of Google Maps that appears when selecting a place.
Attach photos, notes and parking meter time
With the location on the map, which by the way is quite accurate , it is easy to know where you left the car. But also, when saving the parking, you can attach photos of the place and notes . For example, write down the level, zone or parking number .
In case you have left the car in a metered or metered parking , you can even indicate the remaining time and the application will remind you 15 minutes before it expires .
The Google Maps version for iOS also offers the option to save parking. But apparently it is more sophisticated. As reported by Google, on an iPhone the application can automatically save the location of the car when the user disconnects the cell phone from the USB port or loses the Bluetooth connection to the car .
Apparently this feature of Google Maps for iPhone does not exist on Android. But it could be replicated with the Parkify app, which is available for free in the Google Play store. This is an exclusive app to know where you left the car.
In case you don’t see the option to save parking on Google Maps, be sure to update the app. You can do it from its link in the Google Play store.
