Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro: Xiaomi’s new smartphone top models with 108 megapixel camera

Xiaomi presented its new top models in Beijing. MI 10 and MI 10 Pro have a main camera with 108 megapixels and large batteries.

Xioami launched new high-end phones in Beijing. The Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro have so far only been announced for the Chinese market, but will also be launched in Germany at a later date. In China, the new flagship models from Xiaomi cost between 500 and 800 euros, depending on the version. Both support the 5G cellular standard.

The high-resolution main camera, which is used in both new Mi models, is remarkable. The Samsung sensor with its 108 megapixels is already known from the Mi Note 10 . There are currently no cell phone cameras with more megapixels.

The supporting actors differ depending on the model: The Mi 10 Pro has an 8-megapixel telephoto camera, a 12-megapixel portrait camera and an ultra-wide-angle camera with 20 megapixels. In addition to the main camera, the standard version also has an ultra-wide-angle camera with 13 megapixels and two 2-megapixel sensors. Both models have a selfie camera with 20 megapixels.

There are no differences in the display either, both versions of the Mi 10 have a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, HDR10 + and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The notch is embedded in a display hole and sits at the top left of the screen. The fingerprint scanner is also located under the display.

The battery of the Mi 10 Pro has a relatively large 4500 mAh, that of the Mi 10 is even a bit larger with 4780 mAh. Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 865, which has either 8 or 12 GB of RAM depending on the version. These are uncompromising high-end specs, but a slot for MicroSD cards is missing.

For the western market, Xiaomi originally wanted to introduce the new Android 10 cell phones in advance of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Due to the cancellation of the mobile phone trade fair, Xiaomi is now planning to reschedule. The European launch should be announced at a later date, writes Xiaomi. The date has not yet been determined.
