CyanogenMod offers a set of custom ‘C-Apps’ applications to all its users

Not only is it one of the largest custom ROM and app developers on the market. But Cyanogen is also providing a gift to the modding community that has helped bring this custom version of Android to market for everyone to use.

As for regular users, they may be familiar with Cyanogen OS, the certified commercial version that comes preloaded on retail smartphones like OnePlus One, WileyFox, ZUK Z1, Andromax Q, and YU branded devices.

Cyanogen OS includes a variety of applications and services that take advantage of the open CyanogenMod platform. As CM users, these applications were previously unavailable to you unless you purchased a retail phone powered by Cyanogen OS. Starting today, we announce the release of the Cyanogen application suite (C-Apps). Until recently, users hadn’t been able to get started with C-Apps, but as of this announcement, anyone running an update to the CyanogenMod build can get on board. As long as your device meets this prerequisite, you can get C-Apps by navigating to the CyanogenMod site (link provided below).

Inside C-Apps, you get a host of Cyanogen OS apps, along with a custom theme store and the option of individually theme apps. CyanogenMod is very pleasing to the eye, and with Cyanogen’s continued efforts to promote security and privacy, it is no wonder that many of its users endorse custom firmware.

Here are the six apps that are now available for download:

  • AudioFX – Delivers 24-bit high-resolution lossless audio with bass boost, surround sound, reverb, and 13 presets
  • Theme Picker and Theme Store – allows you to mix components from any theme, so you can create a theme that is truly yours
  • Dialer with Truecaller – The robust caller ID included in Truecaller Integrated Dialer allows you to identify and block incoming spam
  • Boxer powered email – sync all your email accounts in one place
  • Gallery – Bring together all your photos from disparate services, automatically classifying them and removing duplicates
  • Cyanogen Account – Gives you access to the “Find My Phone” feature, as well as the ability to remotely erase and lock your phone
