If you activate a text field on your smartphone, a keyboard usually appears on the screen. With this it is possible to make entries on the touch screen. However, if the keyboard is no longer displayed, this can have different causes, which you can solve step by step.
What to do if the keyboard on the Android Q device has disappeared
If you no longer see the keyboard on the Android Q after activating a text field, there can be various reasons for this. Without a keyboard, many functions on the Android Q device are severely restricted. That is why it is important to find the problem as quickly as possible.
- First restart your Android smartphone by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds. Select “Restart” from the menu that appears. Alternatively, switch off the device and restart it after a few seconds using the power button.
- If the keyboard still does not appear after the restart, close all open apps via the Android task manager.
- Next, clear both the app data and the cache. To do this, go to “Settings” and then to “Apps”. Then delete the previously mentioned data under “Storage”.
- Go to “Language & input” in the settings and check whether the desired input method is selected under the “Current keyboard” option.
