If you have a compatible TV set-top box or receiver , the G-MScreen application will allow you to manage it almost entirely from your cell phone. This way you can do without the original remote control.
The only requirement is that the decoder ( STB or Set Top Box in English) and the cell phone are connected to the same network (the decoder should have a connection to your router via Ethernet or WiFi). If so, the STB will be available in the G-MScreen application and can be accessed to control it from there.
Change channel uncontrollably?
The G-MScreen application offers virtually all the controls available on the physical remote control . And it is much more practical in certain respects. Especially in the search and change of channels. You can also see the programming guide for each channel (although not all channels have one).
Channel organization is another strength of the application. Filtering HD channels , for example, is very easy . It is also simple to multi-select multiple channels to group them together . This is generally very difficult to do with the physical remote control. You can also rename or delete channels , among other actions.
The gesture control for G-MScreen can perform various actions. For example, change channels or increase and decrease volume by sliding up, down or sideways, respectively.
Other additional controls include the Sleep Timer and the parental control timer .
If the TV decoder doesn’t automatically appear in the app, it probably doesn’t support it. In any case, you can force your search by entering your IP or the serial number of the equipment.
AZAmerica Decoders
I have tested the app with an AZamerica S926 and S2010 (Android) decoder working through IKS (internet connection) and it has worked perfectly. Previously it quit when selecting the S2010, but the developer updated the app and fixed the problem.
Unfortunately I have not found an alternative that works with computers like the ones mentioned. There are apps for STBs of well-known brands, such as Peel Remote Controller , Sure or Mi Remote, but none of these works with satellite TV decoders like those of the indicated brand.
