Yes, it does not pretend to be the smartphone of the year, but in some places it even surprises me. In general, the Xiaomi subsidiary deserves special attention. Every time they manage to combine top-end characteristics and excellent design in their gadgets, which create a real sensation. Well, let’s see what happens this time.

More recently, Xiaomi has presented us with a new generation of smartphones from its subsidiary POCO brand. This time – POCO M4 Pro 5G, which is a kind of improved version of the POCO M3 Pro 5G, released just six months ago.
I talked about his predecessor in a previous article , where he mentioned that the M3 Pro 5G is the first POCO mid-range smartphone that supports 5G networks. Our new product also supports next-generation networks. It may not be so important for some regions, but there is already a reserve for the future.
Cheap 5G phone
Externally, the POCO M4 Pro is a bit like the younger brother of the M3 Pro, although there are still differences. The model has a plastic case typical of this kind of smartphone and a block of cameras with an inscription of a famous brand that stands out against its background.
The cameras in the new model have undergone significant changes. And not only technically, but also externally. If earlier the block was located vertically, now it has been enlarged and expanded. Thus, the manufacturer seems to be hinting that the phone was originally conceived as a budget smartphone with good photo capabilities.

Although the novelty is inferior to the POCO X3 in terms of its technical capabilities, it will be clearly more comfortable in the hand. The phone’s weight has decreased by 20 grams, and its thickness by half a millimeter. It just doesn’t seem significant. In fact, you will notice the difference.
The smartphone is available in three colors – yellow, blue and dark gray. All three look very juicy, but it seems to me that yellow wins anyway. After all, this is the corporate color of the company, the box is also yellow.
The colors of the Poco M4 Pro are very cool. But yellow is beyond competition.

Well, it’s time to talk about the fun part. The features of the POCO M4 Pro 5G are

Looking ahead, let’s say that the indicators are very decent for their price. Yes, the POCO X3 Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 chip and a 120Hz refresh rate, but keep in mind that you won’t see a cool camera there.
A cheap phone with a good camera
As we already noted, the main emphasis in the POCO M4 Pro was placed on the camera. It turned out to be really powerful. Believe me, not every smartphone can take pictures of this quality.
The M4 Pro’s camera is one of the best in the budget.
The rear camera has two sensors: a 50MP main sensor (which is cooler than the X3 Pro) with an f / 1.8 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide (f / 2.2) and 119-degree angle, which will allow you to capture more space. The front camera is 16 MP here, which is quite enough for good shots.
Several modes are available in the camera application: portrait, night, panoramic, ultra-wide-angle, as well as a high-resolution 50 megapixel mode.

Video recording to the main camera is supported in two formats:
- 1080p: 1920 × 1080 60fps, 30fps.
- 720p: 1280 × 720 30fps.
One cannot fail to mention the 5000 mAh battery of the device . This, incidentally, is another big advantage of mid-range phones. While the flagships barely survive until the evening, the average ones keep the charge for two or three days without any problems.
Plus, 33W fast charging . According to the manufacturer, the phone will charge up to 100% in 59 minutes. A matching adapter is included.
In an hour, the POCO M4 Pro charges up to one hundred percent. Not bad.
