If your Android Q device is also used by your children or if you do not want them to access the device without authorization, suitable child protection can help. However, you must first set this up under Android Q. Google is introducing a new function for even more setting options.
Android Q: Child protection – these settings are important
If your children want to use your Android Q device, you can make various child protection settings. This prevents the device from being in operation for too long, for example, or from using certain applications. Google Family Link can help you with this. This function brings many options for parental controls.
- The Family Link app is primarily intended for use when a smartphone or tablet is used by children under the age of 13. They are not allowed to set up their own Google account yet, but parents can set up a special Family Link account.
- Your children can then access the internet, email and messenger functions. However, new apps cannot be installed without parental consent.
- Access times to the device can also be regulated via the app. You can use the app to restrict and release your children’s smartphones according to your wishes. Certain apps can even be completely blocked.
- To be able to use the functions, you have to install the special Family Link apps on all devices
