What is a telegram?

The telegram is a document that is used as a means of communication. It allows us to communicate concisely, quickly and briefly.

And in these characteristic points is the key, because its name derives from the telegraph, a means of communication from the nineteenth century that allowed short messages to be transmitted with great immediacy in the distance, using a code.

Characteristics of a telegram

The telegram is a communication sent by a sender to a recipient. It is a short, concise, and fast message.

Once sent, it enters the Telegraphy System, and is delivered at home, after signing a receipt.

The telegram, once received, has a notary nature since, given the powers attributed to Correo Argentino, the fidelity of the communication data is ensured throughout the processing of the shipment, without the need for the presence of a notary public.

The original and its copies are kept for up to 3 years at the institution.

When does a telegram reach its destination?

Normally it is delivered in up to 24 business hours from its shipment. They usually arrive during the same day if it is sent before noon, and on the following business day if it is sent in the afternoon.

In some cases, it may take up to 48 hours if there is an impediment of force majeure, but these are the least common cases.

Requirements to send a telegram in World

Depending on the type of telegram, it may have different requirements, but the following should be used as a basis:

  • Sender’s first and last name
  • Sender’s DNI / CUIT
  • Complete sender’s home address
  • Recipient’s first and last name
  • DNI / CUIT of the recipient
  • Complete recipient address
  • Subject or body of the telegram
  • Physical DNI to verify identity of the sender
  • Submit 3 copies of the same telegram
