The Asian firm has just announced the presentation of ColorOS 12, the new version of Oppo’s customization layer. Based on Android 12, the brand has focused part of the novelties on the aesthetic section, simplifying the design lines to adapt them to Google’s visual language. With the announcement of ColorOS, Oppo also confirms a new update policy that will apply from now on to the company’s devices released from 2019.

NEW DESIGN LINE: RENEWED ICONS, BETTER ANIMATIONS …
The main and most striking novelty of ColorOS 12 comes with the design. First of all, Oppo has redesigned most of the icons that belong to both the customization layer settings and applications, such as Settings, Camera, Files, Browser or Clock. On a more general level, the brand has opted for a cleaner and more polished aesthetic: larger icons, rearrangement of visual elements to improve one-handed interaction , more contrasting colorimetry … In fact, contrast has been enhanced both in the text as in the options and the buttons to color to improve the access and the visibility of the same.
Finally, the company has added more than 300 renewed animations , animations that now gain naturalness by offering a more organic behavior, with bounce and a certain inertia that varies depending on the response of the finger in the face of screens with high refresh rates. .
ANDROID 12 UNDER THE HOOD: THE LATEST VERSION OF GOOGLE COMES TO OPPO PHONES
Unsurprisingly, Oppo updates the base of its customization layer to the latest available. The news that comes with this new version are rather scarce, since Material You, Google’s new design language, has been replaced by Oppo’s own bet.
