Snapchat, like all social media apps and networks, has to regulate itself. This is done to prevent spam and trolling and harassment, or to punish users for violating a content policy. It is necessary if social platforms and applications want to retain users. Snapchat does not have an option to inform users like Facebook and Twitter. It allows you to block people, but that’s about it. You cannot report a user, so whenever a user is banned on Snapchat, it is at the discretion of the app. That is not to say that Snapchat bans random people. A Snapchat ban targets users who violate the terms of service and/or misuse the app.

Snapchat Ban Wave
Snapchat does not proactively ban users. If you are violating their terms, you will likely get away with it for a while unless you are informed. Large-scale blanket bans are imposed on waves and if you’re not doing anything too crazy, you might even slide until the next wave hits. Between waves, you can stop your violations and your account will not be suspended in the next round of bans.
Reasons why Snapchat bans you
Snapchat bans you for three main reasons;
- Send spam and engage in abusive behavior that violates its terms
- Posting illegal content, for example, how to rob a bank
- Posting anything considered hate speech or instigating violence
- Adding too many friends with an unverified phone or email
- Use of third-party applications and plug-ins to misuse the application
Using a rooted or jailbroken device does not result in a ban.
Bypass Snapchat ban
It’s not that hard to avoid getting banned.Snapchat.Be sure to verify their phone number and/or email and don’t spam or harass them. Honestly, the guidelines are not that difficult to follow. The real guideline users have trouble with is the third-party app or plugin.
Some apps allow you to use Snapchat and override some of its security features. For example, some applications and settings allow you to take screenshots of snapshots or even save snapshots without the other person knowing. This is a clear violation of Snapchat’s terms of service. Snapchat ++ is a popular app that, if used, will ban you. It allows you to view a snapshot without the user knowing, and it allows you to keep snapshots open indefinitely.
Any app or plugin that is advertised as a way to bypass a Snapchat feature is violating the app’s terms of service. You shouldn’t use it. It is not illegal in the sense that you will end up in prison, but it will result in a ban.
Appeal a Snapchat ban
However, Snapchat does not have an appeals process, it does not implement a permanent ban from the beginning. If your content has been reported, Snapchat will respond to the report within 24 hours. The content will be removed. If the crime is particularly heinous, your account may be blocked. Suspends your account for 24 hours. If you’re locked out, you have to wait that long before trying to log in again.
