By creating a shortcut to a web page on your Android, you can open it in one tap. No need to open the browser and enter the URL manually.
The result is practically the same as adding a shortcut to an application on the desktop or home screen of the cell phone. In a touch you will be inside.
This is a practically highly recommended way to access Facebook and avoid installing the official application, which slows down the phone and eats up the battery.
Create shortcut to a web page in Chrome
The procedure is performed in the mobile web browser. It varies from one browser to another, but basically it is the same in any one. Below I explain how to put web pages on the Android desktop with the Google Chrome browser.
- Open the web page in the Google Chrome browser.
- Drop down the Chrome menu (three-dot button, top right).
- Tap on Add to main screen
- Enter a name for the Shortcut.
- Click on Add
A short message will appear on the screen saying something like “androidjefe.com added to the main screen”.
How to put Google as a HOME page on my cell phone
The shortcut icon for that web page will appear on one of the Android home screens (desktop). Every time you want to open that site, just open it by clicking on that icon and it will open immediately in the default Android browser.
How to add shortcut to a website in Samsung Browser
It is done similarly in the factory browser that is installed on a Samsung phone. The page opens in the browser, the general menu opens and the option direct access to the desktop is chosen.

This device has a special function that allows you to display a panel of shortcuts from the right edge of the screen. There in that panel we can also put a direct access to a web page. If this panel is activated, in its configuration you will be able to enable website shortcuts and add the ones you want.
