Although our Android phone is one with a Gorilla Glass screen, this protection is insufficient and it is necessary to buy and apply a mica to prevent the screen from deteriorating. It is the best investment you can make to extend the life of your phone.
A mica is simply a screen protector against scratches, scrapes, or even drops. It is generally made of clear adhesive plastic or glass, which does not impede tactile feedback.
You can buy micas in any cell phone business, simply indicating the model of your equipment. Here we give you some indications about the purchase and placement.

Screen protector: Tips
Glass
Always make sure to buy a 9H glass mica as it seems to be the strongest currently. Plastic micas are not recommended, because they will not protect your screen against a fall.
Curved Screens
Unfortunately, for curved screen cell phones, such as Samsung’s high-end models, I have not found glass lenses that fully adhere to the screen. Most only offer adhesive on the sides, and this makes the mica peel off easily.
Even plastic micas have a problem with peeling off the sides. And when they are already shaped for the curve (curved) they are difficult to place. For my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge curved screen, the mica that has worked well for me, has been easy to put on and has adhered perfectly is the ArmorSuit brand , which you can find on Amazon. It has a regular rating, but as I indicate, I have done excellent with it.
Make it transparent
Buy a transparent, not matte mica. Killing them obviously overshadows the screen, something you probably don’t want. It’s all a matter of asking the seller and making sure by checking the mica packaging. If the latter does not apply (some micas do not indicate that detail in the envelope in which they come), it will inevitably have to be visually verified – sometimes you can only do this by opening the packaging. Ultimately, the seller’s word will have to be trusted.
Branded micas
Avoid generic micas and buy a “brand name”. To be more clear, avoid buying those micas of Chinese origin that sell for $ 1 on the street, because from personal experience I can say that they are entirely recommended. They deteriorate quickly. Brand micas that have a good presentation can be better than that.
Chinese micas for cell phones are not highly recommended, unless there is no other option …
Bubbles
This, in addition to being related to the correct placement of the mica, also has to do with its quality, so if you want to avoid bubbles (those circles with air that remain after laying), you have to buy a mica that comply with the above recommendation.
Prefer brand name micas (not of Chinese origin) with good presentation
Place the mica yourself
Few vendors are careful to give putting a mica when they buy, so it is best to put the mica yourself. It is not difficult and the micas usually come with instructions. Even those skillful sellers sometimes do it in a hurry and deliver a result that leaves nothing to be desired. After several personal disappointments, now I just buy the mica and put it at home myself. The first time you may have to sacrifice a mica, but the experience is worth it.
If the exact mica does not exist for your cell phone model
If the exact mica for your phone model is not found, you can buy a similar one and cut it yourself. In this case, with more reason the above applies. A seller will never (in most cases at least) have the care and patience necessary to cut the mica as accurately as possible to fit properly on the screen of our Android or cell phone.
